Honda Accord

Honda Accord is a mid-size car popular worldwide that has been produced since 1976. Among all Honda cars, Accord is between the compact Honda Civic and the large Legend.
Many cars were made on the Accord platform. In the Japanese market, Honda Ascot, Torneo and other cars were available.
In North America, you can find cars like Acura CL, TSX, TLX, which are based on Honda Accord.
This model was sold in many countries, and special versions were made for some countries. For example, the 6th, 7th and 8th generation Accord for Europe and US were significantly different. This is normal practice for Honda.
The main competitors of Accord are Toyota Camry, Hyundai Sonata, Kia Optima, Ford Fusion/Mondeo, Volkswagen Passat, Subaru Legacy, Nissan Altima/Maxima/Teana, Mazda 6, and similar cars.Honda Accord Hybrid

We won’t look at too old engines, let’s start with the 5th generation. Here you can choose only from straight-4 engines: F18A, F18B, F20B, F20Z, F22A, F22B, F22Z and H23A. Accords with Rover diesel engines were also made.
In the period between 1997 and 2002, Accord 6 was made. There were many various models, among which JDM Accord Euro R with engine H22A VTEC and JDM Accord SiR with engine F20B VTEC were especially interesting. The versions for North America did not stand out; here engines F20B and F23A were used. In the most expensive modifications, the 3.0-liter V6 J30A was installed. European 6th generation Accords had mediocre engines: F18A, F20Z, F22Z, F23Z, H23A and the Rover diesel. In the European market, only Accord Type R with H22A VTEC under the hood was interesting.
In 2002, 7th generation Accord was launched, and versions for the US and for Europe were very different from each other.
The American Accord got engines K24A and J30A. In the European model, K20A, K24A and diesel N22 were used. The most aggressive was JDM Accord Euro R with the K20A engine, which boasted 220 HP.
In 2007, Accord 8 for USDM was launched. Under the hood, everything is typical: K24Z I4 and V6 J35Z. A year later, European Accord 8 was released, where engines R20A, N22A and K24Z were used.
Starting with 2012, they stopped dividing USDM and EDM versions. 9th generation Honda Accord was the same for everyone. This model is available with engines R20A, K24W and J35Y.
In 2017, production of tenth generation Honda Accord started. Like many other companies, Honda started using turbocharged engines. For Accord, they offer 1.5-liter L15B and 2.0-liter K20C.
