Toyota Previa (Estima, Tarago, Canarado) is the mid-size minivan. It was developed in 1990 and replaced Toyota TownAce. The platform Toyota MC was used for it. This platform is also known on such models as Scion tC, Prius, Matrix, Corolla, RAV4, Avensis and others. The first Previa version was also produced as Estima Lucida and Estima Emina. There are some insignificant differences between their body sizes and options. In the market Previa has such major competitors as Honda Odyssey/Elysion, Nissan Quest, Mercedes-Benz Vito, Ford Galaxy/S-Max, Mitsubishi Grandis, SEAT Alhambra, Citroen Jumpy, Peugeot Expert and other minivans. Toyota Previa engine range includes 2.4-liter straight 4 cylinder 2TZ engines on the first body. The second model was equipped with the more modern 2.4 L 2AZ or 3 L 1MZ. For the third generation the same four-cylinder 2AZ and 3.5-liter 2GR engines were used. Besides, the first and the second Previa versions were equipped with the diesel engines also. Those were 2.2 L 3C-T and 2.0 L 1CD.
