Toyota HiLux is a world-popular mid-size pickup with construction body-on-frame. Its first model appeared in 1968. In the range of Toyota SUVs, HiLux is situated between Toyota Highlander(Kluger) and Toyota Land Cruiser/T100/Tundra. In the North America and some South American countries Tacoma was sold instead of HiLux. The HiLux engines are the typical for such class straight 4 cylinder engines with displacement from 1,6 to 2,7 L. Along with them V6 3.0, 3.4 and 4.0L engines were used also. They are somewhat similar to the ones of Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. Besides the gasoline Toyota HiLux engines, the straight 4 cylinder diesel were installed also. Mainly those were 2,5-liter 2KD, but also 3.0L, 2.8L, 2.4L and others.
