The large Toyota Sequoia takes the same upper position, but it is more simple and affordable. Among the competitors of Land Cruiser there are such cars as Chevrolet Tahoe, Cadillac Escalade, Mercedes-Benz GL/G-Class, Range Rover, Nissan Patrol and other large SUVs. By analogy with Prado, the luxury model Lexus LX570 was produced. It has been developed on base of Toyota Land Cruiser and the outer differences between them are quite insignificant. Besides, Toyota FJ Cruiser has become the basis for the modern version Land Cruiser J40.
Considering the mass of the car and its large size, the engines V8 1UR, 3UR and 2UZ, from 4.6 L to 5.7-liter are used for it. The old models and the inexpensive modern ones were equipped with V6 and I6. They are 4.5-liter 1FZ, 4.0-liter 1GR, 3F and many others. For the old models the diesel and also four-cylinder engines were used.
