Toyota Crown

Toyota Crown is a full-size sedan, one of the oldest Toyota models. First Crown appeared in 1995. Since that time on 14 generations have succeeded one another. In the Toyota production range Crown is situated a little higher than Avalon and lower than the flagman Toyota Century. Among the analogs and competitors of Toyota Crown there are such cars as Nissan Fuga, Cadillac CTS, Hyundai Grandeur, Buick LaCrosse and other full-size cars (European E-Class).

There is a great variety of Toyota Crown engines. For the last models they are mainly V6 2.5 L, 3.0 L and 3.5-liter. All these engines belong to the series 2GR, 3GR and 4GR. Along with them, V8 1UZ and 1UR were used, both with supercharger or without it. Till 2003 the row six-cylinder naturally aspirated engines 1JZ and 2JZ were used for the Crown models. The simpler models were supplied with 2-liter 1G engine. Besides, other types of engines were also used, including the diesel ones. The last models were equipped with hybrid engines also.
