Nissan Pathfinder

Introduction

Nissan Pathfinder is a mid-size SUV (used to be body-on-frame SUV), produced since 1985. In Nissan SUV model range, Pathfinder is placed between Murano/Xterra and large Armada/Patrol.
The main competitors of Pathfinder are Toyota Highlander/Prado, Honda Pilot, Ford Explorer, Chevrolet Traverse, Mazda CX-9, Mitsubishi Pajero and other mid-size SUVs.

Nissan Pathfinder is not an exception from the SUVs of this class, and the same as they it uses quite big engines. The first generation was equipped with gasoline 4-cylinder 2.4 L KA24E and Z24i engines, and also 3-liter V6 VG30. Diesel engines, such as TD272 and TD27T, were also used for that model.
Second generation of Pathfinder engines presented V6 VG33E and V6 VQ35DE, and also diesel TD27ET, ZD30DDT and QD32ET.
Pathfinder R51 was supplied with V6 VQ40DE and large V8 VK56DE, and also diesel engines YD25DDTi and V9X.
In 2012 Pathfinder transformed into another class of SUVs and got such engines as VQ35DE and 4-cylinder 2.5L QR25DER + electric motor.
