Mitsubishi Galant

Mitsubishi Galant was a mid-size car produced from 1969 until 2012. Among the Mitsubishi cars, Galant ranked above Lancer (over Carisma in the 90s) and was a senior model. The list of competitors Galant includes Chrysler Sebring, Nissan Altima/Primera, Toyota Camry, Ford Fusion/Mondeo, Opel Insignia, and others.

Let’s have a look at the engines of Galant. We will start with 7 generation since older cars virtually cannot be found. For instance, 7-8 generations used the following engines: 4G63, 4G64, 4G93, 6G73, 6A11, and 6A12. There was also the twin-turbo 6A12 for Galant VR-4 and the diesel 4G68.Mitsubishi-Galant
In 2003, 9 gen appeared where completely different engines were used. Under the hood of Galant 9, one could see a 4G69 and a large 6G75 V6.

Below you will find detailed information about each of these engines: their specs and differences, main problems and reasons thereto, the information about their service life and reliability, recommended oil, its amount and allowed consumption.
